MERCY MANOR is a non-profit that exists to promote healthy choices for future families.

As a ministry, our vision is to see individuals facing crisis pregnancy living out their full potential in Christ. We understand the challenges that come with unplanned pregnancies, and whether parenting your child or placing your child for modern adoption, we believe God has a plan and purpose for you and your child—born and unborn!

**Mercy Manor has 4 programs under its umbrella:**
- **Residential Home:** Foster certified for minors (13-17) in crisis pregnancy
- **Community Classes:** free earning- while- learning program for anyone experiencing an unplanned or crisis pregnancy
- **Born Again Thrift Store:** Resume` building and job skills training for those who have completed our program.
- **Risk Avoidance Program:** Empower students 5th – 12th grade by utilizing a 14 lesson curriculum teaching youth to abstain from risky behaviors through goal setting and character building lessons.

Our Community Classes are held in Gregg County, but serve people from the immediate surrounding counties as well.

#### HISTORY

Mercy Manor was founded in 2013 after Texas Legislation did away with maternity home licensing. All long-term housing was approved for those 18 years of age and older.

This left a large number of girls ages 13-17 requesting help with no place to go.

Having experienced a teen pregnancy at the age of 16, Stephanie Fears (Founder & Executive Director) understands the fear, confusion, chaos, guilt, and shame that comes with a teen pregnancy. Abortion was encouraged, but it was not an option they would consider. 

She praises God every day that her heart was burdened for that precious child to have life! 

It was Stephanie’s compassion for these young ladies that birthed our ministry.

For Stephanie and her family, they chose adoption, and after reuniting with her son 20 years later, she has been able to witness the benefits of the alternatives to abortion. She has seen the productive life her son is living, gained a personal relationship with his adoptive parents, and heard the blessing this young man has been in the lives of those desperately wanting to have and love a child of their own!

Throughout the last few years, by God’s grace, Mercy Manor has continued to grow. As a ministry, they have expanded their services, and they are now serving individuals of all ages who find themselves facing a crisis pregnancy.

The Society of St. Vincent de Paul is a volunteer organization that offers direct aid to those in need across nine counties in North Texas. Through personal, compassionate interaction, the Society’s members provide short-term financial, material and emotional support to our neighbors in crisis.
In addition, broader Society programs and services help families address the underlying root causes of their basic unmet needs. Things like access to free prescription medication for those without insurance, or support in escaping predatory debt empower neighbors to build a life free from poverty.

**At the Jefferson Conference we provide:**
- A monthly Food Pantry
- Prescriptions
- Gas
- Temporary lodging
- Partial utility assistance
- During the winter we also provide gloves and/or hats, and blankets and coats (when available). 
- Reference information to other agencies in the area

**Our Fleet**

Provides safe transportation for students that are ineligible to ride school buses due to the two-mile law in the state of Texas. Students in the state of Texas that live within a two-mile radius of their assigned school are not eligible for bus transportation. Our organization desires to provide a safe ride for these students to arrive at school safely for their days of education.

We have 15 passenger vans running in the mornings and afternoons when school starts and ends.

##### Please read the details below for our services:

**Non-Refundable Application fee $15 per student**
- **Complete Day Service:** $180.00 a month, $195.00 for one sibling, $205.00 for two siblings, $215.00 for three siblings 
- **1/2 Day Service:** $140.00 a month, $155.00 for one sibling, $170.00 for two siblings, $185.00 for three siblings ***(All siblings must be picked up at the same time in the AM)***
- **Suspended from School:** $20 a day paid in advance 
- **Sick and need a ride home Before, During, or After School:** $20 
- **Need help getting to and from Dr. Appointments:** $20 

**We do not offer daily pricing for snowy or rainy days off or sickness**

The Alzheimer's Association was founded in 1980 by Jerome H. Stone and a group of family caregivers and individuals interested in research. The organization was established to advance research into the causes, treatments, and prevention of Alzheimer's disease, as well as to provide care and support for those affected by the condition.

**Care and Share is a non profit organization. Our sole purpose is to help and provide low-income individuals with food, clothing, and other essential needs.**

**Here are the list of services we offer:**

- Back Pack Program for Head Start: 788 bags per month (which includes at-risk families in and out of school. We supply the High School, Middle School, and Elementary School Pantry with food. 
- Healthy Pantry: Healthy grain and low sodium diet items are provided (Approximately 175 pantry bags per month).
- Senior Box Program: This program provides over 400 Seniors with a food box every month. We deliver to approximately 125 clients who are unable to pick up food.
- Collaboration with APS (Adult Protective Services) and CPS (Child Protective Services) to ensure Seniors and Children live in a safe carefree environment.
- Smoke Alarms: Smoke alarms are provided to anyone who wants or needs them thanks to our partnership with the Red Cross.
- Collaboration with Tri-County, Next Step, Neighborhood Strong, Get-Cap, and the USDA Rural Housing to help families make sure their homes are safe and energy efficient.
- Additional Social Work services (When funding is available): 
     - Assist Clients with Applications for Food Stamps (SNAP), QMB, Social Security, Chip Medicaid, and Adult Medicaid
  - Obtain cell phone Service through Safe-Link
  - Assist with Utility Payments
  - Assist with Medical, Dental, Co-pays, Prescriptions, Vaccines
  - Assist College Students with various needs
   - Obtain Free Eye exams and glasses
    - Gas for transportation
    - Support the Red Cross in assisting victims.

- **San Augustine location** - Address: 104 N. Montgomery, TX. 9am - 3pm 
Monday through Wednesday. Produce Drop, Pantry Distribution, Senior Box Distribution, Second Wednesday of the Month.
- **Broaddus** - Address: 800 FM 2558, Broaddus, TX
Produce Drop, Food Pantry, Senior Box Distribution the second Tuesday of the month from 7am - 12pm. Third Tuesday of each month: Pantry and Senior Box Distribution 9am - 4pm
- **Chireno Produce Drop** - Address: 715 Main, Chireno, TX: 
Pantry, and Senior Box Distribution - Fourth Tuesday of the Month 8am - 1pm.

Food Pantry

San Augustine Care and Share was established in 1986 by a coalition of 13 churches united in their mission to provide a food pantry for the community. For years, the pantry operated with support from these churches and the TTL Foundation, serving around 100 clients monthly.

By 2011, the organization faced closure as its dedicated volunteers could no longer continue. That’s when Tressie Simon and her husband, who had newly arrived in San Augustine and were passionate about making a difference, were asked to step in. They accepted the challenge, and the pantry’s story entered a new chapter, continuing its legacy of service.
