- The quarterly downtown Longview ArtWalk is the signature event of the Arts!Longview Cultural District. ArtWalk is free to artists and creators to participate and free to attendees.

**5-Year Plan**
Longview’s cultural district was designated by the Texas Commission on the Arts September 5, 2019.  Arts!Longview is the non-profit organization charged with implementing the goals of the cultural district.  See the district's 5-year plan.

**History of Arts!Longview Organization**
Arts!Longview is a 501(c)3 organization formed in 2019. The organization was created after an inspirational Longview Chamber of Commerce Inter-City visit to Waco in 2018, which included their cultural district. Following the trip, a local task force was created to pursue the possibility of a cultural district designation from the Texas Commission on the Arts. In 2019, the task force applied for and was granted acceptance as an official Texas Cultural District. The nonprofit was formed to oversee the ongoing effort to promote and develop the district.

For over 40 years, the Women’s Center of East Texas has served survivors of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking, as well as their families. We have responded to tens of thousands of calls for help, and there is so much more to be done. 

The Women's Center of East Texas strives to eradicate and prevent domestic and sexual violence by advocating for personal and societal change. Our team promotes empowerment through education and support for survivors and their families.

We provide the following services to clients free of charge: safe, clean, comfortable shelter for women, men, and children; transitional housing; 24-hour crisis hotline; individualized safety planning; hospital accompaniment; legal advocacy and court accompaniment; individual counseling and peer support groups; transportation for client services; children's advocacy; community information and referrals; and assistance with the Crime Victims' Compensation (CVC) program.

We are dedicated to providing safe haven, crisis intervention, and comprehensive support services to victims of domestic violence, sexual assault, and sex trafficking in Gregg, Harrison, Upshur, Marion, Rusk and Panola Counties.

Ned E. Williams STEAM Academy is a Longview ISD and Texas Council of International Studies (TCIS) elementary school. When it comes to schools for future engineers, there isn't another school in East Texas that offers what we offer. STEAM includes Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics, which we incorporate into our curriculum in a hands-on and interactive way to ensure all students get a high-quality education that well prepares them for the world of innovation that we live in today. The IB and PYP program at our school provides a $30,000 private school world-recognized education for FREE! Additionally, our school offers a variety of social services to its students and families including food services, meals, special needs/disability resources, and more!

Ned E. **History**
Originally named Greenville School, the school founded in 1883 by the renowned educator and dean of students, Prof. Ned E. Williams, as an all-Black school in the Elderville Common School District. The school's name was changed to Gregg County Training School in 1918, with Mr. Williams as its first principal. After his death in 1945, the school was renamed in his honor, recognizing his 57 years of service to the institution. His son, Dr. E.R. Williams, succeeded him as the principal.

A new modern structure was constructed in 1964, but the school closed its doors in 1969 following consolidation with Longview Independent School District. Currently, Dr. Dorcas Dunlap, a third-generation descendant of Ned E. Williams, is the administrator of the elementary school.

The history of the Ned E. Williams Elementary School serves as a testament to the contributions of Black educators and their vital role in shaping the educational landscape of America. The school has come a long way from its humble beginnings as an all-Black school to being administered by one of the descendants of its founder. It remains an integral part of the Longview Independent School District, providing quality education to children from diverse backgrounds.

Twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week, God uses our station as the Christian music station of East Texas. We are a station, non-commercial, operated by a non-profit corporation. Fuzión is structured to serve our listeners with the best Christian music, information and entertainment. Our prayer is that God can minister to you through our ministry.

The Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Longview, Tx. Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income families who are living in inadequate, unsafe, unaffordable and/or overcrowded housing to build simple, safe, and decent homes. The community provides volunteerism and donations in the form of construction labor, professional services, money, and materials to construct homes in a cost-efficient manner.

Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity se asocia con familias de bajos ingresos que viven en viviendas inadecuadas, inseguras, inasequibles y/o superpobladas para construir hogares simples, seguros y decentes. La comunidad ofrece voluntariado y donaciones en forma de mano de obra de construcción, servicios profesionales, dinero y materiales para construir hogares de manera eficiente.
