**Providing Hope in Tyler**

In 2015 the Hiway 80 Rescue Mission extended its reach into Tyler with the Gateway to Hope. At our Tyler day care center we provide access to showers, laundry, haircuts, phone, mail, and a computer for those in need. Throughout the week different volunteers come to help by distributing supplies, assisting guests on the computers, cutting hair, sharing the Lord, or sometimes just taking time to be an encouragement and a friendly ear to listen.

**Brindando Esperanza en Tyler**

En 2015, la Misión de Rescate Hiway 80 extendió su alcance a Tyler con el Gateway to Hope. En nuestro centro de cuidado diurno en Tyler, brindamos acceso a duchas, lavandería, cortes de cabello, teléfono, correo y una computadora para aquellos que lo necesitan. A lo largo de la semana, diferentes voluntarios vienen a ayudar distribuyendo suministros, asistiendo a los huéspedes en las computadoras, cortando el cabello, compartiendo la palabra del Señor o a veces simplemente tomando tiempo para ser un estímulo y un oído amigable para escuchar.

**Loving Others as Christ Commanded**

In 1955 the Hiway 80 Rescue Mission was established to provide food and shelter, and to share the gospel with homeless men in Longview. For over 65 years God has helped us grow this ministry to include an emergency shelter for women and families in Longview as well as two campuses in Tyler.

We feature Christ-centered recovery programs, and community outreach services. Through the New Creation Discipleship program, we teach people about Christ’s love and commands, arming them with the tools they need to overcome addictions, abusive situations, and many other difficulties they face in life. After completing the 10-month program, services are provided to assist them with achieving self-sufficiency.

Through Case Management, we assist homeless men and women in identifying and overcoming the obstacles that are keeping them in homelessness. Our case management team works with the individuals to create a plan to address those obstacles, secure and budget an income and locate healthy and appropriate housing.

What started in one, small building now spans 4 campuses in Longview and Tyler.

Wellness Pointe is an FTCA Deemed Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) and 501(c)3 nonprofit organization. We provide a variety of medical and social support programs to benefit the health of the whole family. If you do not have a primary care physician or would like to change providers, Wellness Pointe is ready to serve your health care needs! We have nine convenient locations in Longview, Tyler, Mount Pleasant, Kilgore, and Gilmer with early morning and evening appointments available to accommodate your busy schedule.

Wellness Pointe happily accepts Medicaid, CHIP, and Medicare (including Health Spring).  We also accept most health, dental, and vision insurance including Aetna, Blue Cross/Blue Shield, TRICARE, and United Healthcare, to name a few.

The Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Longview, Tx. Northeast Texas Habitat for Humanity partners with low-income families who are living in inadequate, unsafe, unaffordable and/or overcrowded housing to build simple, safe, and decent homes. The community provides volunteerism and donations in the form of construction labor, professional services, money, and materials to construct homes in a cost-efficient manner.

The mission of the East Texas Food Bank Tyler Resource Center is to fight hunger and feed hope in East Texas. The Tyler Resource Center is a program of ETFB located in West Tyler.

The goal of the Tyler Resource Center is to provide a one-stop-shop of wraparound services with a food pantry, benefits assistance and other support services.

La misión del Banco de Alimentos del Este de Texas es combatir el hambre y alimentar la esperanza en el Este de Texas. El Centro de Recursos del Este Profundo de Texas es un programa del Banco de Alimentos del Este de Texas ubicado en North Lufkin.

El objetivo del Centro de Recursos de Longview es brindar una ventanilla única de servicios integrales con una despensa de alimentos, asistencia con beneficios y otros servicios de apoyo.

Since October 1988, the East Texas Food Bank, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has provided food to over 200 partner agencies and food programs, in an effort to feed children, the working poor and seniors throughout 26 counties in East Texas. A member of Feeding America, The East Texas Food Bank is one of four food banks that serves the Gulf Coast Region who are pre-staged with food products from Feeding America, to respond to disasters.

Our food sources include a variety of national, regional and local food manufacturers, brokers, wholesalers, and retailers donate food to the East Texas Food Bank. Donated food includes overproduced or discontinued items, frozen foods, dairy products, mislabeled goods, dented cans, day-old breads and pastries, and odd-sized produce. Local farmers and gardeners provide fresh produce. Individuals, businesses and community organizations support the East Texas Food Bank through various canned food drives throughout the year.
