I am a Baptist minister and retired as Director of Soda Lake Baptist Association five years ago. I became interested in helping people with immigration issues about 15 years ago. I found out that the Department of Justice had a program for individuals associated with non-profit organizations to be certified to practice immigration law. These individuals are called Accredited Representatives. I completed that training and have been serving clients for ten years.

Since October 1988, the East Texas Food Bank, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has provided food to over 200 partner agencies and food programs, in an effort to feed children, the working poor and seniors throughout 26 counties in East Texas. A member of Feeding America, The East Texas Food Bank is one of four food banks that serves the Gulf Coast Region who are pre-staged with food products from Feeding America, to respond to disasters.

Our food sources include a variety of national, regional and local food manufacturers, brokers, wholesalers, and retailers donate food to the East Texas Food Bank. Donated food includes overproduced or discontinued items, frozen foods, dairy products, mislabeled goods, dented cans, day-old breads and pastries, and odd-sized produce. Local farmers and gardeners provide fresh produce. Individuals, businesses and community organizations support the East Texas Food Bank through various canned food drives throughout the year.

Family Circle of Care is a health center that operates seven medical clinics, one dental clinic, and a mobile medical clinic serving the East Texas cities of Tyler, Athens, and Jacksonville and surrounding communities. We provide Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Mental Health Services, Dental Services, and Social Services and Resource Assistance, and have been the dominant community health center (also known as a Federally Qualified Health Center or FQHC) in our service area since 2013.

FCC’s clinics are in tracts designated as Opportunity Zones and Medically Underserved Areas, with low median household incomes, high unemployment rates, high percentages of poverty, low percentages of residents with an advanced degree, and high percentages of students eligible for free or reduced lunch. We are a public school district located in Longview, Tx. that works hard every day to teach every single student how to be a successful adult. What makes us special besides our culture? We are the 2nd oldest school district in Texas, we have 341 certified teachers, out of which, 71 have Master's Degrees, and we have the highest local optional homestead exemption in Longview.
