The East Texas Council on Alcoholism and Drug Abuse is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization that provides education, youth prevention programs, information resources, and services to prevent alcohol and drug use/misuse. We serve over 1.7 million people in our 23-county service area in East Texas.

Most services are at no charge to the community. Funding for programs is provided by:

  • United Way
  • Texas Health an Human Services
  • Community Foundations
  • Businesses and Individual Contributions

Our organization provides the following resources:

  • Recovery Support Services (RSS) (Free)
  • Certified Peer Specialists and Recovery Coaches dedicated to the transformative power of peer support.
  • Prevention Resource Center (PRC) & Naloxone Training (Free): Comprehensive information and resources aimed at promoting awareness and preventing various issues.
  • Youth Transition Services (Free): Dedicated to providing support and assistance to ages 15-25 who have experienced foster care and been victims of various crimes.
  • Education Services (Not Free. Please see fees below)

1. Adult Choices & Consequences of Substance Misuse Education Class

The Adult Choices and Consequences of Substance Misuse Education Class is a 6-hour course with two mandatory 3-hour sessions from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Monday and Wednesday. Both sessions are required for a certificate. The class will be held at 708 Glencrest Lane, Longview, TX 75601. The $100 registration fee is due at sign-up (money order or credit card only). A $30 fee applies for lost certificates. Late arrivals, missed classes, or sessions will result in forfeited fees and no certificate.

2. Choices for Adolescents Education Class

The Choices for Adolescents Education Class is a 3-hour course offered the 3rd Saturday of the month from 9 AM - 12 PM. Course topics include marijuana, Delta 8, K2, alcohol, tobacco, vaping, substance use denial, anger management, and bullying. The class will be held at 708 Glencrest Lane, Longview, TX 75601. The $75 registration fee is due at sign-up (money order or credit card only). A $30 fee applies for lost certificates. Late arrivals, missed classes, or sessions will result in forfeited fees and no certificate.
