The Longview Dream Center was founded by Pastor Thomas McDaniels. Thomas currently serves as the CEO of the Longview Dream Center in Longview, Texas. Thomas has been serving people in East Texas for over 30 years. 8 years ago he started LifeSource Food Assistance in a local church and has fed thousands of families for many years. Thomas received the 2014 Humanitarian Award for Gregg County and is known for his compassion and service to others. Thomas is a proud Dad of three sons and the husband of Charlotte McDaniels, his wife of over 30 years.

The Longview Dream Center exists to provide basic needs to the people of Longview and the greater East Texas region. Their mission is to unite the time, talents and treasures of organizations while serving those in our community that are in need or in crisis.

I am a Baptist minister and retired as Director of Soda Lake Baptist Association five years ago. I became interested in helping people with immigration issues about 15 years ago. I found out that the Department of Justice had a program for individuals associated with non-profit organizations to be certified to practice immigration law. These individuals are called Accredited Representatives. I completed that training and have been serving clients for ten years.

**Services Provided:**
- Family immigration services
- Assist individuals obtain legal resident status (green card), citizenship, and renewals for temporary employment authorization, such as DACA.
- Certified Acceptance Agent with the IRS to file for Individual Tax Identification Numbers (ITIN).
- Connection to Notary Services, document translations, and more!

**Pricing:**
Government filing fees are set by the agencies. I charge to cover basic expenses of my operation and they vary by the type of work needed by the client. As the term "non profit" suggests, the fees are minimal. **There is no charge for a first consultation.**

- **Victim Services:** assists and enables victims of crime and their families from the initial report of violence throughout their recovery and healing process as well as legal journey. Those who qualify are also assisted in their filing for Crime Victims Compensation for expenses related to their victimization.

- **Hand Up Response Teams (HURT):** serve those affected by disaster or emergency and provide community service projects in partnership with local civic authorities, community partners or verified needs.

- **Immigration Services:** Provides a full spectrum of professional legal immigration services (USCIS Registered) for immigrants at low cost.  The only service we do not provide is legal representation if there is already a court case / adjudication pending.
- **Health Insurance:** Hand Up Network is licensed to provide health insurance services including accessing ACA financial assistance for families needing health insurance.
- **Re-sale Store with Retail Training:** the HUN resale store provides quality, affordable shopping (clothing, household goods, etc.) for our lower income neighborhood and the wider community while offering estates and donors a respectful option for surplus items.  Additionally, those interested in retail as a career, can learn merchandising and displays, inventory control, retail technology, sales and service in a hands-on environment.

I am originally from Zacatecas, Mexico, and have been residing in Longview, Texas, since 2004. I am a mother of two wonderful boys and a beautiful girl who inspires me to always give my best. I graduated from the University of Texas at Tyler with a bachelor's degree in psychology and earned my master's degree in clinical psychology with a specialization in neuropsychology from the same institution.

Currently, I have the privilege of serving my clients in my private practice, VIVE, as a mental health coach. Additionally, I collaborate with the 318 Latino podcast, promoting psychoeducation segments to raise awareness and educate our community on mental health. I also volunteer with Operation True North, a non-profit organization that provides mental health services to veterans and their families.

For over four years, I worked administering psychological tests at a psychological assessment and counseling clinic. With my experience in the field, I understand the impact of the lack of mental health providers in our Latino community. This need has fueled my passion for serving a less privileged part of our population, who face many stressors as individuals, couples, or parents. I believe mental health is a necessity, not a privilege. I am committed to working and offering my services to give back to our community some of the many blessings I have received.

Since October 1988, the East Texas Food Bank, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, has provided food to over 200 partner agencies and food programs, in an effort to feed children, the working poor and seniors throughout 26 counties in East Texas. A member of Feeding America, The East Texas Food Bank is one of four food banks that serves the Gulf Coast Region who are pre-staged with food products from Feeding America, to respond to disasters.

Our food sources include a variety of national, regional and local food manufacturers, brokers, wholesalers, and retailers donate food to the East Texas Food Bank. Donated food includes overproduced or discontinued items, frozen foods, dairy products, mislabeled goods, dented cans, day-old breads and pastries, and odd-sized produce. Local farmers and gardeners provide fresh produce. Individuals, businesses and community organizations support the East Texas Food Bank through various canned food drives throughout the year.

Family Circle of Care is a health center that operates seven medical clinics, one dental clinic, and a mobile medical clinic serving the East Texas cities of Tyler, Athens, and Jacksonville and surrounding communities. We provide Obstetrics & Gynecology, Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Mental Health Services, Dental Services, and Social Services and Resource Assistance, and have been the dominant community health center (also known as a Federally Qualified Health Center or FQHC) in our service area since 2013.

FCC’s clinics are in tracts designated as Opportunity Zones and Medically Underserved Areas, with low median household incomes, high unemployment rates, high percentages of poverty, low percentages of residents with an advanced degree, and high percentages of students eligible for free or reduced lunch. Our five Tyler clinics are in non-rural areas and our Jacksonville and Athens clinics are in rural areas.

Many of our patients experience barriers to healthcare, and we strive to reduce obstacles to provide trauma-informed, culturally competent, affordable, accessible healthcare for all.
