The East Texas Angel Network is a foundation established for the enhancement of the lives of families in East Texas whose child may be suffering from a serious or life-threatening disease.

**Getting Started**
ETAN was established in 1995 by Neal McCoy and his wife, Melinda, who both wanted to support the families of children with severe medical needs.

**Giving Relief**
For over two decades, ETAN has been cutting red tape and making funds available for hundreds of these families to pay off their secondary expenses.

**Events**
Our annual fall fundraiser includes a golf tournament, sponsor’s dinner, and benefit concert. Neal is the featured artist for the concert along with many friends from the entertainment industry who donate their time to the cause.

The children’s advocacy center model originated in 1983 by then-District Attorney Bud Cramer in Huntsville, Alabama. Recognizing that child victims were being re-victimized by the very system that was supposed to protect them, Cramer led a group of front line workers from CPS and law enforcement agencies, nurses, mental health providers, and others to establish the first Children's Advocacy Center in 1985. Today, the Huntsville center is the National Children's Advocacy Center and serves as a model and resource for advocacy centers across the country. Bud Cramer went on to serve as a US Congressman where he continued to fight for children until his retirement in 2008.

Amarillo is the proud home of the first CAC in Texas when The Bridge Children’s Advocacy Center opened its doors in 1990. Since then, communities all across the state have established multidisciplinary teams to investigate, prosecute, and provide intervention for abuse victims and their non-offending family members.

In 1998, leaders in both Gregg and Harrison counties began educating their communities regarding the need for a children’s advocacy center. East Texas CASA contacted Children’s Advocacy Centers of Texas, the membership association for CACs in Texas, and the process of starting a CAC in our community began.

The Children’s Advocacy Center of East Texas (CACET) was established in a little gray house on College Street in Longview and children received forensic interviews beginning in June 2000. At the time, the CAC had one employee, a Program Director, who quickly hired a Child Advocate to help ensure the children and their families received services so vital to their healing process. CACET began to coordinate the efforts of the professional teams who investigate, prosecute, and facilitate healing in both counties. The teams included representatives from area law enforcement, the District Attorney’s Office, Child Protective Services, and local medical and mental health professionals.

In 2002 East Texas CASA changed their organizational name to East Texas Child Advocates (ETCA) with three programs under their umbrella: East Texas CASA, CAC of East Texas, and Getting Together Safely. Because of the desire of the board to have all three programs under one roof, the programs moved to a larger location on South High Street in 2006.

In the summer of 2008 the ETCA board voted to separate CAC of East Texas from the umbrella organization. A committee was formed to begin the process of the legal separation. In the summer of 2009 a new board of directors was formed and The Martin House Children’s Advocacy Center of Gregg and Harrison Counties was established and moved to 606 West Garfield Drive in Longview.

In 2014 the board of directors voted to add Marion County to its official service area and changed the name of the organization to The Martin House Children's Advocacy Center. To better support the multidisciplinary teams and families from Harrison and Marion Counties, a CAC satellite office was established in the Carlile Building in Marshall in September 2015.

The Martin House Children's Advocacy Center is the result of a remarkable collaboration and coalition of dedicated individuals and agencies which serves more than 600 children and their families each year. This partnership, combined with a generous outpouring of community support, has made the center a reality and children a priority. The center is one of 70 CACs in Texas and more than 800 across the U.S. dedicated to protecting our most vulnerable citizens: our children.

**Gregg County Historical Foundation**

In 1963, the Gregg County Historical and Genealogical Society was founded with 70 charter members. From this group, the Board of Directors of the Gregg County Historical Foundation was established and chartered by the State of Texas on February 28, 1966.

On January 23, 1967, The Gregg County Historical Foundation was granted 501(c) (3) tax exemption by the IRS. A twenty-four-member board of directors governs the Gregg County Historical Foundation.

The Gregg County Historical Foundation had always hoped to have a permanent place to display its collection of historic Gregg County artifacts, documents and photographs. Ann Lacy Crain purchased the Everett Building and on May 27, 1979, donated it to the Foundation in loving memory of her parents, Rogers and Lawson Keener Lacy. Later that year, the building was entered in the National Register of Historic Places.

**Museum History**

Before the opening of the museum on June 2, 1984, extensive restoration and rehabilitation began on the historic Everett Building to transform it into the Gregg County Historical Museum.

The San Antonio architectural firm of De Lara-Almond Architects Inc. was retained, and Killis P. Almond, Jr., AIA, was the project architect. The general contractor was David Stewart Construction Company of Longview.

The result of their expertise and many months of labor was a resounding success. Charles A. Paramore of Museum Arts in Dallas designed and installed the exhibit areas to illustrate the development of Gregg County with antiques and historic photographs in themed settings. Mr. Paramore arranged the entire space, as well as each display. On the main floor, he took a rectangular room and made it magical with a variety of exhibit layouts and traffic flow features.

On February 20, 1983, friends and supporters of the museum were invited to attend the dedication of the rehabilitated Everett Building. In the same year, the building was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark. After 74 years, the graceful old edifice became the home of Gregg County Historical Museum, which was officially opened to the public on June 2, 1984.

The structure of the building is the most valuable artifact at the museum. In our community, where has very few buildings that were built before 1930 survive, the Everett Building is extremely important. The museum's beautiful lobby has the original inlaid tile floor and pressed tin ceiling with cherubs. Many children have been quoted as saying that the ceiling looks like icing on a beautiful cake.

The museum celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009. During the first 25 years, it has hosted visitors from all 50 states and over 36 foreign countries. Going forward our exhibits, services and educational programs continue to expand.

Gregg County Historical Museum is a precious gem in the heart of downtown Longview. The institution and the people who are committed to its continued success have become woven into the fabric of the community.

Eric Hatley was born and raised in Gurdon Arkansas where he excelled in athletics such as football, basketball and track. While attending Gurdon High School he played under a great coach named John Ware. He received honors in football, basketball and track but basketball was his passion.  After graduation he was selected to play for the International Tour team that traveled to Belgium Europe where he was then selected to play in the All-Star game. After returning from Europe he committed to play basketball for Crowley’s Ridge College in Paragould, Arkansas.

After playing one year at CRC he transferred to Wiley College in Marshall Texas and played for three years. After playing for Wiley College he went on to earn his bachelor degree in Business Administration. After graduation I attended several pro camps/combines to live out my dreams. I was inducted into the Gurdon High School Hall Of Fame. I ended up playing for two semi-pro teams in Texas while holding down a full-time job in juvenile probation.     


Eric Hatley Sr. is a father of three, motivational speaker, basketball trainer and a business man.  He is the founder/director of the Tip-Off Basketball and has been fulfilling his dream since 2007 which originated in Gurdon Arkansas. He has been hosting a basketball camp each summer for kids ages five to fifteen.  He teaches young girls and boy’s the fundamentals of the game of basketball.  The Tip-Off Basketball camp focuses on mentoring, fundamentals, drills, games, life skills and sharing the word of God.  


We also teach players how to work hard, how to believe in themselves, teach self-motivation, how to achieve goals and be winners.  In 2014 he established EDH Basketball Club Foundation located in Longview Texas.  He hosts a year-round six week training series for boys and girls the ages five to fifteen.  In addition to hosting basketball camps during the year, I focus on teaching fundamentals, team work, individual skills and making sure that they know that they are a student first! He has currently retired from the Juvenile Probation in Texas after many years of service.

The Longview Arboretum and Nature Center is a privately managed arboretum garden in the heart of Longview. Like many other arboretums across our nation, a respectful partnership exists between the City of Longview and the Board of the Longview Arboretum and Nature Center regarding the sustainability of this massive endeavor. This public/private partnership allows for cultivation, development, private investment, and collaborative maintenance on 26-acres between the Longview Convention Complex and Grace Creek tributary.

Opened Saturday, November 2, 2019, the Longview Arboretum began it's role as a privately managed arboretum devoted to revealing the unique eco-system of East Texas in a beautiful and thoughtful manner. The mission to educate our community, stimulate the senses, and create a positive relationship to nature is one that the Board of Directors pursues for the future. Our executive director, Steven Chamblee directs the growth, plantings, events, and exhibits of the Longview Arboretum. Please stop by and say hello if you see him in the gardens.

This ever-growing garden is a living testament to a love of community, and the soul enriching quality of spending time in nature.

The Longview High School Choir is a 501c3 non-profit in Longview, Tx. Ultimately, the Longview High School Choir seeks to empower our students with the skills, confidence, and passion necessary to become lifelong advocates and ambassadors for choral music. We aspire to create a lasting musical legacy that reflects our commitment to artistic integrity, cultural appreciation, and the transformative power of music in the lives of our students and community.

**Eligibility Requirements:** 
Any student enrolled as a full time student at Longview High School is welcome to join the Lobo Choir. There are 2 sign up choirs and 1 auditioned / varsity choir. In most cases a student will spend at least 1 year in the non-auditioned choir to develop the skills needed for the varsity choir. Auditions for the varsity choir occur all year long ,with participation and attendance both in and out of class, and at the end of each school year with a singing and sight-reading audition.

- Donations towards our travel to France in the summer of 2024 to perform at the 80th Anniversary of D-Day in Normandy on June 6th. The cost is $2600 per student + $1600 air travel.

- Charter Bus Funding for out of town trips to perform at the Dallas Mavericks Game.
- Donations toward the purchase of Dallas Mavericks tickets so that students performing do not have to pay for their ticket. The tickets are $80 each

**Necesitamos actualmente:**

- Soportes para micrófono con clips lo suficientemente grandes para micrófonos inalámbricos.
- Sistema de sonido portátil.
- Financiamiento para autobuses para viajes fuera de la ciudad para presentarse en el juego de los Dallas Mavericks.
- Donaciones para la compra de boletos para los Dallas Mavericks para que los estudiantes que se presenten no tengan que pagar por su boleto. Los boletos cuestan $80 cada uno.
- Donaciones para nuestro viaje a Francia en el verano de 2024 para presentarnos en el 80 aniversario del Día D en Normandía el 6 de junio. El costo es de $2600 por estudiante + $1600 para el viaje aéreo.

La misión del Coro de la Escuela Secundaria Longview es inspirar, educar y empoderar a nuestros estudiantes a través del poder transformador de la música. Nos esforzamos por cultivar una comunidad de cantantes apasionados que sobresalen en la expresión artística, la técnica vocal y la musicalidad. A través de un riguroso entrenamiento, actuaciones colaborativas y un repertorio diverso, buscamos fomentar el amor por la música coral y desarrollar habilidades para toda la vida que se extiendan más allá de las paredes de nuestro espacio de ensayo.

The LHS Choir is open to any student that has a desire to learn to sing , and a desire to be part of a team that truly loves and values each member. Watch this short video to see what we are all about. Share this video with any LHS student that might want to join us. Don't let fear hold you back.
