We believe veterans and those who diligently serve our community have earned our support and respect. We are a faith-based organization that provides readily accessible counseling and trauma treatment for veterans, first responders, medical personnel, and their families. Hannah House Ministries was founded in 1999 by Glennis and Gary Woodall. Glennis had a passion to love God and to reach women who have found themselves in a crisis pregnancy situation.  Hannah House was located in Glen Rose, Texas until 2010 when they relocated to Gilmer, Texas. 

Today, Melanie and Alan Wright oversee Hannah House.  Hannah House Ministries has now expanded on the 60 acres by adding the Gathering Place.  The Gathering Place, finished in 2021, can now house up to four women who are needing a home during their pregnancies. 

Hannah House welcomes each woman where they are on their journey.  Hannah House is located on 60 acres of beautiful and peaceful countryside. This provides our girls with the opportunity to listen and hear God, clear of distractions, so they are able to make the best decisions for their child and themselves.

From the first day we met in lawn chairs at the home of Lynn & Linda Spruiell in Longview, Texas in June 1983, until now, the mission of New Beginnings has been to make disciples of Jesus Christ. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ, personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to the lost.

Over the years, New Beginnings has continued to grow and reach families. We have experienced exciting changes and additions in our ministries, a growing staff, and expanded across East Texas. New Beginnings is ONE church, in TWO locations, with THREE Campuses: Longview Campus, Gilmer Campus, and NB Español (meets at the Longview location). We pray for more campuses to come! God continues to bless our church.

In short, New Beginnings is Jesus-ruled, elder-led, staff-directed, deacon-served, and congregationally approved and accountable.

**WHAT WE BELIEVE**
As its doctrinal statement, this church subscribes to the “Baptist Faith and Message” as adopted by the Southern Baptist Convention in 2000. We voluntarily band ourselves together as a body of baptized believers in Jesus Christ personally committed to sharing the good news of salvation to lost mankind. In 1983 members of the Junior League of Longview, employees of the Longview Cancer Center and Good Shepherd Medical Center and other concerned individuals from the community banded together to investigate the need for hospice services for the terminally ill in Longview and the surrounding area. With a start-up grant from the Junior League and many hours of work by committed volunteers, Hospice Longview, Inc. was founded in 1984 as an independent, non-profit, community based hospice which is governed by a board of community leaders and health care professionals. We served our first patients in April of 1985.

In recent years, we discovered that our original name, Hospice Longview, had regionalized us in the minds of many people. From the beginning, Longview has been our home and always will be, but as we look forward to reaching new goals and dreams for our organization, we’ve decided to give ourselves a new name as well. HeartsWay Hospice of Northeast Texas will continue a 30 year tradition of caring for those who invite us into their homes to assist them in their time of need.

HeartsWay Hospice of Northeast Texas is a 501c(3) nonprofit organization. All gifts are tax deductible. We are fully accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program, ensuring the very best quality of care. We are proud members of the Texas and New Mexico Hospice Organization and the National Hospice and Palliative Care Organization.

Fatherheart is a safe place for an expectant mom to prepare for the birth of her unborn child. The home is nestled among East Texas’s piney woods on 40 acres in a peaceful country setting. Fatherheart has provided more than 600 young women a safe haven to mend the past and move into the future with renewed hope. 

Fatherheart is a protected environment where women find loving house staff that support them emotionally and spiritually through their pregnancies while providing practical training through:

- Life Skill Classes
- Birthing Classes
- Parenting Classes
- Doula services (birth coaches)
- Transportation to medical care
- Parenting preparation
- Adoption counseling. We encourage our moms, whether they choose to parent or place for adoption. We provide support and resources along the parenting or adoption journey.

Our residents can also continue to work on their education through a self-paced curriculum. We have meals as a family, attend church on Sunday morning together, enjoy evening game and movie nights, fun outings, devotions, Bible studies, and more.

Fatherheart residents experience community with other women in similar situations.

Fatherheart es un lugar seguro para que una futura mamá se prepare para el nacimiento de su hijo por nacer. La casa está ubicada entre los bosques de pinos del este de Texas en 40 acres en un entorno rural tranquilo. Axia Mobile Pregnancy Resource Center Admin Assistant and Patient Advocate

**Our Story**

In 1982, YWAM missionary and visionary leader,  Beverly Kline, met a Tyler teenager who was fearful that she might be pregnant.  In seeking help for this young lady, Bev was directed by the health department to an 800 number for a free pregnancy test. Bev soon learned that the free test was provided by a Dallas abortion clinic, which utilized a local Tyler laboratory, that ultimately provided the lead for an abortion sale.  

Little did anyone know, that that one inquiry would result in closing the door to that clinic’s abortion access in Tyler! Since then, more than 40,000 free tests have been administered by Tyler’s Living Alternatives Pregnancy Resource Center.  Today, in addition to pregnancy testing, the Center also performs free sonograms which drastically increases the survival rate of the unborn child. The Center’s Building Blocks program continues to minister to the women after a confirmed pregnancy with individual parent mentoring, childbirth education and doula services, to ensure the safe arrival of the baby. 

Fatherheart Maternity Home has provided more than 600 young women safe haven to mend the past and move into the future with a renewed hope. Babies are a great start to a new beginning. For many of the girls, a new beginning starts with an adoptive family for her baby, facilitated by the ministry’s Loving Alternative Adoption Agency.  More than 200 birthmothers have made the loving and sacrificial choice to prepare an adoption plan, and placed their precious baby into the arms of trusted adoptive parents. 

Loving Alternatives was also honored to utilize its agency license for a season, by helping the Smith County Family Court find Christian families for 100 children who were waiting in foster homes for an adoption. This ministry is called ForThe1.

Statistics tell us that many girls who age out of the Foster system are at a higher risk for trafficking and unplanned pregnancies. KEEPS Boutique combats these statistics by providing a unique shopping experience for teen girls in the State foster care system. This free shopping experience enables personal connection through “girls’ nights out” events, and a summer camp experience. Through these brief but impacting encounters the girls experience the touch of the Father’s love as the staff welcome them with warm embraces.  

The flagship of all the Living Alternatives ministries is the Pregnancy Resource Center.  The PRC is the where the heartbeat of Living Alternatives emanates from, and this heart is ENLARGING.  In partnership with the community, 1.2 million dollars was raised for a state-of-the-art facility called The AXIA Center that allowed Living Alternatives to reach more women in even more effective ways. Free pregnancy testing and sonograms are tools utilized to reach the target audience of abortion-vulnerable women with hope – and help – to make life changing decisions for their unborn child and their future.

The Gregg County Historical Museum is a 501c3 non-profit organization located in Longview, Tx. Since 1984, the Gregg County Historical Museum has offered the opportunity to step back in time. The museum has the 2nd largest collection of Caddo Indian artifacts in the state of Texas. One of the top 5 shootouts in the Wild West occurred on the outside of the building when the Dalton Gang showed up to rob the bank that was once housed in the museum building. Annual public events for the museum begin in February and March with “Black History Month” exhibit and events. Exhibit days are general admission ($5 for adults, $2 for Senior Citizens, $1 for Students) but there is always one Saturday during the exhibit that is open free to the public.  Any lecture or lecture series in conjunction with Black History Month is always free to the public. The museum has a Black History Month Committee that decides on all exhibits and tries to develop local topics that have/had a nationwide impact.  Black History Month brings in approximately 500 visitors. 

“Dalton Days”, which spotlights the reenactment of the 1894 Dalton Gang bank robbery, is held on the first Saturday in April. This event hosts four reenactments of the bank robbery and includes fun activities such as a petting zoo, kids’ zone, crafts, vendors, live music, artisans and much more.  This event is always free to the public and in 2023 we had 3,103 visitors.

“Traveling Exhibits” are hosted during the spring and summer months. These touch on topics such as World War II, Immigration through Galveston Island, Mardi Gras, History of Flight, Hot Air Balloons and much more. These traveling exhibits encompass full exhibits, hands-on activities, videos, special event days, historical lectures, and off-site activities. 

The Museum also hosts the “Landmarks of Longview Architectural Home Tour.”.  This tour occurs on the third weekend of September. This event takes participants on a charter bus ride to learn the history of certain buildings and the people that lived there.  There is always an opportunity to go inside two or three designated homes on the tour.  This event is $25 per person. This event sells out charter buses every year with around 250 in attendance. 

The first Saturday of December is the opening day for “Living History Christmas”, which brings the museum to life with vintage holiday cheer and children’s activities along with a highly popular “Model Train and Holiday Village Exhibit” which is on display for the entire month of December. The Saturday of “Living History Christmas” is always free to the public bringing in over 500 visitors in one day.  The museum has over 2,500 that attend the three weeks of the Christmas festivities.

Los eventos públicos anuales del museo comienzan en febrero y marzo con exhibiciones y eventos del “Mes de la Historia Afroamericana”. Los días de exposición son de entrada general ($5 para adultos, $2 para personas mayores, $1 para estudiantes), pero siempre hay un sábado durante la exposición que está abierto de forma gratuita al público. Este evento lleva a los participantes en un viaje en autobús chárter para conocer la historia de ciertos edificios y las personas que vivieron allí. Siempre existe la oportunidad de ingresar a dos o tres casas designadas en el recorrido. Este evento cuesta $25 por persona. Este evento agota las entradas para los autobuses chárter cada año y cuenta con una asistencia de alrededor de 250 personas.

El primer sábado de diciembre es el día de apertura de “Living History Christmas”, que da vida al museo con alegría navideña vintage y actividades para niños junto con una muy popular “Exposición de modelos de trenes y pueblos de vacaciones” que se exhibe durante todo el mes. de diciembre. El sábado de “Navidad con Historia Viva” es siempre gratuito para el público y atrae a más de 500 visitantes en un día. **Gregg County Historical Foundation**

In 1963, the Gregg County Historical and Genealogical Society was founded with 70 charter members. From this group, the Board of Directors of the Gregg County Historical Foundation was established and chartered by the State of Texas on February 28, 1966.

On January 23, 1967, The Gregg County Historical Foundation was granted 501(c) (3) tax exemption by the IRS. A twenty-four-member board of directors governs the Gregg County Historical Foundation.

The Gregg County Historical Foundation had always hoped to have a permanent place to display its collection of historic Gregg County artifacts, documents and photographs. Ann Lacy Crain purchased the Everett Building and on May 27, 1979, donated it to the Foundation in loving memory of her parents, Rogers and Lawson Keener Lacy. Later that year, the building was entered in the National Register of Historic Places.

**Museum History**

Before the opening of the museum on June 2, 1984, extensive restoration and rehabilitation began on the historic Everett Building to transform it into the Gregg County Historical Museum.

The San Antonio architectural firm of De Lara-Almond Architects Inc. was retained, and Killis P. Almond, Jr., AIA, was the project architect. The general contractor was David Stewart Construction Company of Longview.

The result of their expertise and many months of labor was a resounding success. Charles A. Paramore of Museum Arts in Dallas designed and installed the exhibit areas to illustrate the development of Gregg County with antiques and historic photographs in themed settings. Mr. Paramore arranged the entire space, as well as each display. On the main floor, he took a rectangular room and made it magical with a variety of exhibit layouts and traffic flow features.

On February 20, 1983, friends and supporters of the museum were invited to attend the dedication of the rehabilitated Everett Building. In the same year, the building was recorded as a Texas Historic Landmark. After 74 years, the graceful old edifice became the home of Gregg County Historical Museum, which was officially opened to the public on June 2, 1984.

The structure of the building is the most valuable artifact at the museum. In our community, where has very few buildings that were built before 1930 survive, the Everett Building is extremely important. The museum's beautiful lobby has the original inlaid tile floor and pressed tin ceiling with cherubs. Many children have been quoted as saying that the ceiling looks like icing on a beautiful cake.

The museum celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2009. During the first 25 years, it has hosted visitors from all 50 states and over 36 foreign countries. Going forward our exhibits, services and educational programs continue to expand.

Dating back to 2003, Wayne Powell, Civitas Senior Living Co-Founder and Chief Executive Officer, was starting to reimagine senior living. His vision was to establish communities where residents flourished with happiness and employees were deeply passionate, all while embodying a spirit of service and compassion. Wayne took this opportunity to create what he and his team saw was missing from the senior living industry.

**The Story Begins**

Five people embarked on an extraordinary journey to launch their passion. Wayne, Jay, Misti, Cooper, and Amy’s shared vision, born from years of experience and deep empathy for seniors, became the driving force behind Civitas Senior Living.

Today, their dream fuels a dedicated team of 2,500+ individuals serving more than 5,000 seniors nationwide. From humble beginnings to managing over 30 premier communities, the Civitas Senior Living story is a testament to an unwavering commitment to seniors.
